The College of Art and Design organized 18 students for a rural service program in Dengjiawan, Liangshan, Sichuan Province, as part of TUST's Pioneer Program and ideological and political education activities. The team, named Together Along the Yi Road at the Foot of Daliangshan, conducted livestreams to support local agricultural sales, taught art education classes and took part in revolutionary heritage education. Tianjin Daily and Jinwanbao reported on the program, and People's Daily Online, China Youth Network and Jinyun republished the coverage.

The team used art and design skills to address local needs. To help producers facing strong harvests but limited income growth, students ran livestreams and fresh-fruit charity sales, joined agricultural work and offered suggestions for upgrading local industries. They taught art, safety and student-aid policy classes to children in Yi communities. During the Yi Torch Festival, they learned about intangible cultural heritage practices and local customs. To mark the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, the team visited the Memorial Hall of the Yihai Alliance, provided public-interest photography services and toured the Xichang Satellite Launch Center.
The program connected students' academic skills with work in orchards, village classrooms, historical sites and the launch center. The college uses social practice as part of the Pioneer Program and its whole-process, whole-staff and all-round education approach. It plans to continue guiding students to develop professional skills and a sense of public responsibility through community-based work.
