Major Introduction: Product Design major was founded in 1987, is the first undergraduate design major established by college, and has won the only postgraduate training qualification for toys in China. It is the first-class undergraduate major construction point in Tianjin, the first batch of brand majors in Tianjin, the key construction major from the 15th to the 13th Five-Year Plan, and the council unit of China Toys and Baby Products Association. It has won the project investment of "Central and local Co-construction of university characteristic and advantageous subject Laboratory" and "Central Support for local University laboratory construction", the second prize of national higher education teaching achievements, and the national textbook of the Ministry of Education's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan". Teachers with senior titles account for 72.3%, and have won the Red Dot Supreme Award, IF Award and European Product Design Gold Award many times.
Training objectives: Product design professional training has a "thick foundation, wide caliber, heavy ability", "knowledge, ability, quality" coordinated development, has a solid basic theoretical knowledge of product design and product modeling ability, good professional skills and professional quality, They can be engaged in design, management, scientific research or teaching work focusing on product innovation in enterprises and public institutions, professional design departments, teaching and scientific research units, and can also be engaged in visual communication design, information design, environmental facility design or display design related to product design. They are high-quality applied talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, body, labor and innovation spirit and practical ability.
Teachers: Strong professional teachers, the proportion of old, middle-aged and young people and the structure of learning is reasonable. Among the teachers, 30.8% were selected as municipal leading talents and backbone talents, such as "Discipline Leading Talents", "Tianjin Young Innovative Talents", "Excellent Young Teachers Funding Program" and teaching Master Training Program of Tianjin universities. Master's tutors account for 73%. More than 92% of the teachers are master and doctoral graduates. They come from the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Jiangnan University and University of Warwick, etc., and have strong teaching and research ability.

Employment Prospects: Graduates have a relatively complete knowledge structure in product design and broad employment prospects. After graduation, they can enter well-known design units or other enterprises and institutions to engage in product creative design, product development, design planning, design management, etc., or engage in teaching and scientific research in colleges and universities. Can also be professionally based, engaged in other related design work. Some students go to graduate school or study abroad.

Cooperation and exchange: It has good cooperative relations with the University of Creative Arts in the UK, Saimaa University of Applied Science and Technology in Finland, Birmingham City University in the UK, and the University of West Bohemia in the Czech Republic.
