On the afternoon of June 6, the animation Department successfully held the ASIFA animation short film campus exhibition Xiamen International Animation Festival in the lecture hall of Hexi District. Mr. Wu Jixian presided over the lecture, and more than 240 teachers and students of animation participated in the activity.
The event was delivered by Mr. Zhang Chi, Deputy Secretary General of the International Animation Association CHINA Branch, who introduced ASIFA and ASIFA-China, the birth and development of the Animation Festival, Xiamen International Animation Festival, Xiamen International Animation Festival "Golden Dolphin" Animation Competition and other contents in detail, so that teachers and students had a more comprehensive understanding of the International Animation Association and its China branch. It expands the channels for students to participate in international animation competitions, and introduces the concept of pan-animation into multiple aspects of artistic creation, which enriches students' creative forms and broadens their international vision.
During the screening session, teachers and students enjoyed the works that won the gold award for Best Animated short film in the Golden Dolphin Animation Competition from 2018 to 2023. These works come from different countries, diverse in form, unique in style, and show a high level of thematic depth and artistic expression, which has benefited students.
This activity not only enhanced the students' confidence in engaging in animation, but also enhanced their teamwork spirit and individual independent expression through participating in professional animation competitions, which will contribute to the development of animation industry in the future.
